Our Mission

The National Coastwatch Institution Boscastle station stands as a vital guardian of the North Cornwall coast. Established in 2004 following the loss of local visual safety services, our station is manned entirely by dedicated volunteers who maintain a visual lookout for hazards in the Boscastle area. We serve as the eyes and ears along the coast, working alongside HM Coastguard and the RNLI to enhance the safety of all who navigate these rugged coastal waters. For decades, we have remained committed to providing this essential voluntary watch, ensuring that mariners, coastal walkers, and pilots remain protected under our watchful gaze.

Become a Watchkeeper

We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to join our station in Boscastle. Help us maintain maritime safety by training as a watchkeeper and supporting our vital mission of coastal surveillance.
